Almost all foreign nationals (except Indian citizens) need a visa to enter Nepal.

How to Get a Tourist Visa?

You can get a Visa on Arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport (Kathmandu) or at land border crossings.
Alternatively, you can apply online in advance via the Nepal Immigration Portal.

How to Apply for a Nepal Visa?

• Before arrival, please fill out the online visa application form. Click here
• After arriving in Nepal, please fill out the online visa application form. Click here
• Submit the printed confirmation (barcode) of your online form

Extension Options:

You can extend your visa in Kathmandu or Pokhara.

• Fee: USD 45 for 15 days, and USD 3 per additional day.
• Maximum stay: 150 days per calendar year

Free (Gratis) Visa

• SAARC nationals (except Afghanistan) get 30 days free (once per year)
• Children under 10 (except U.S. citizens) get free visa

To obtain a Nepal visa, the following documents are required:

• A valid passport with at least 6 months of validity
• A recent passport-sized photograph
• Completed visa application form (available online or at the entry point)
• Applicable visa fee in cash (USD preferred)
